around this time last year people finally started taking notice of the food-related issues in the upper northern reaches of Canada; consider this your reminder that even since then, juice is still $26 in Pangnirtung, Nunavut, and that the predominately indigenous communities in Canada’s North are forced to pay extraordinarily exorbitant prices for basic groceries due to structural inequity and the contemporary effects of ongoing settler occupation.

The people who were teenagers during the Civil Rights Movement are still alive, y’all. Their lives were affected by blatant, government-sanctioned racism. It astounds me that people act like it was thousands of years ago.

OH MY GOD!!!!!! ::weeps:: Look at how happy they are!!!! Look at the bottom shot, and they are both looking at the camera like they are stars. LOVE THIS

Favor

“Favor shown to the miserable we call mercy; favor shown to the poor we call pity; favor shown to the suffering we call compassion; but favor shown to the unworthy we call GRACE! This is favor indeed; favor which is truly Divine in its source and in its character.”

& most often, I’m pretty unworthy

Some people would always rather be somewhere else. There “here” is never good enough. Through self-observation, find out if that is the case in your life. Wherever you are, be there totally. If you find your here and now intolerable and it makes you unhappy, you have three options: remove yourself from the situation, change it, or accept it totally. If you want to take responsibility for your life, you must choose one of those three options, and you must choose now.

When I say be creative, I don’t mean that you should all go and become great painters and great poets. I simply mean let your life be a painting, let your life be a poem.
